SHE STARTED HER CAREER AT THE BEDFORD PUBLIC LIBRARY AS A PART TIME SHELVER IN 2009.
SHE WAS PROMOTED TO LIBRARY ASSISTANT TO FULL TIME IN 2011 IN THE YOUTH SERVICES UNIT AS A LIBRARY ASSISTANT TWO SHE OVERSAW RECRUITING, TRAINING, AND SUPERVISING TEEN VOLUNTEERS.
IN 2014, MARY PLAYED AN INTEGRAL ROLE IN THE CREATION OF STEM KITS AND PROVIDING STEM CLASSES.
AT THE TIME, SHE TOLD ME THAT HER GLASSES KEPT ON GETTING THICKER BECAUSE SHE WAS HAVING TO LEARN ALL SORTS OF SCIENCE AND MATH, AND TODAY SHE CONTINUES TO DO MOMENT OF SCIENCE WITH HER COUNTERPART, SARAH.
IN 2000, BECAUSE OF THAT WORK, SHE WAS RECLASSIFIED TO A PROGRAMING SPECIALIST.
AND THEN IN 2018, SHE WAS PROMOTED TO THE CIRCULATION SERVICES SUPERVISOR.
MARY IS CONSIDERED A LEADER IN THE COHORT COMMUNITY, WHICH IS OUR INTEGRATED LIBRARY SYSTEM, AND SHE PRESENTED AT THE COHORT CONFERENCE THIS FALL, WHICH SHE WAS VERY NERVOUS ABOUT, BUT SHE KILLED IT.
AS A LIAISON TO THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY, MARY CAME UP WITH THE GREAT IDEA TO SELL PUMPKINS AS A FUNDRAISER AND DIVERSIFY OUR REVENUE STREAMS. THE PUMPKIN PATCH HAS BECOME A MUCH, MUCH MORE THAN A FUNDRAISER FOR THE LIBRARY.
IT'S BECOME A COMMUNITY TRADITION FOR MANY FAMILIES.
OUR FIRST PUMPKIN YEAR, WE SOLD 9,400 PUMPKINS AND EACH YEAR THE SALES AND ACTIVITIES AT THE PUMPKIN PATCH HAVE GROWN.
LAST YEAR WE SOLD OVER 27,300 PUMPKINS, AND THAT WAS 190% INCREASE FROM OUR VERY FIRST YEAR.
SO THIS HAS BEEN A FUNDRAISER THAT HAS GROWN.
AND OF COURSE, WE ALSO DO THE BEER AND BRATS AS A PART OF IT.
AND SO IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BIGGER AND BIGGER, AND IT WAS ALL HER IDEA.
MARY HAS A SON, GLEN, WHO GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS WITH A DEGREE IN COMMUNICATION.
SHE HAS HER BELOVED RESCUE DOG, BELLE, AND SHE HAS A CAT, BUTTON, WHO WAS LEFT IN THE LIBRARY LOBBY.
SO SHE'S SHE TAKES HER JOB VERY SERIOUSLY AND HAS BROUGHT HIM HOME AS WELL.

AT THAT MEETING, PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF THE COMP PLAN, WITH TWO CHANGES ONE BEING THAT THE LIFESTYLE RESIDENTIAL FUTURE LAND USE AREA BE CHANGED TO NEIGHBORHOOD VILLAGE, AND THEN THAT THE PREVIOUS LIFESTYLE RESIDENTIAL NOW NEIGHBORHOOD VILLAGE BE THE DENSITY ON THAT THE DENSITY RANGE BE CHANGED FROM THREE UNITS CHANGE TO THREE UNITS, THREE UNITS TO TEN UNITS PER ACRE.

AND REALLY THE IDEA BEHIND THAT IS JUST TO PROVIDE SOME ILLUSTRATION TO THE NARRATIVE THAT'S THERE.
DOESN'T MEAN THAT'S WHAT IT'S GOING TO LOOK LIKE.

AND SO TO DO THAT, WE TRY TO ACCOMPLISH ACCOMMODATE VARIOUS DIFFERENT HOUSING TYPES.
ALSO KEEPING IN MIND THAT THERE ARE CERTAIN HOUSING TYPES WE DON'T WANT IN THAT AREA MATTER OF FACT, WHEN WE WE TOOK A LOOK AT THIS, WE ALSO LOWERED DOWN THE DENSITY A LITTLE BIT TO REFLECT THE, THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS.
WHAT IS THE LOTS PER ACREAGE ON THAT? SO IF YOU JUST LOOK AT THE SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL, IT'S A LITTLE MORE THAN TWO UNITS PER ACRE.

AND SO WITH THAT CONCEPTUAL PLAN EVEN BE VALID BECAUSE IT'S OFF TO THE SIDE THERE.
IT'S PART OF IT FRONTS HARWOOD.
I MEAN I MEAN PART OF IT DOES THE THE TOWNHOME SECTION DOES KIND OF GO BACK A LITTLE BIT FURTHER.
