Consider Approval Of Items By Consent
(Consent items are deemed to need little Council deliberation and will be acted upon as on business item. Any member of the City Council may request that an item be withdrawn from the Consent Agenda and placed before the City Council for full discussion. Approval of the Consent Agenda authorizes the City Manager, or a designee, to implement each item in accordance with staff recommendation.) 1. Consider approval of the following City Council minutes: a) March 27, 2018 regular meeting 2. Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Pyro Shows for the 2018 4thFest Fireworks Program in the amount of $30,000.
COUNCIL RECOGNITION Proclamation declaring the month of April 2018 as Child Abuse Prevention Month in the City of Bedford.
PERSONS TO BE HEARD The following individual has requested to speak to the Council tonight under Persons to be Heard: a) Thomas Wade, 1508 Donna Lane, Bedford, Texas 76022 – Request to speak to the Council regarding City codes and enforcement, and maintenance of City property and streams. b) Dorothy McWhorter, 1600 Martha Lane, Bedford, Texas 76022 – Request to speak to the Council regarding water meters.
NEW BUSINESS Receive an update on the classification and compensation study.
Consider a resolution authorizing alcoholic beverages to be sold and consumed at the Boys Ranch Park during the Twilight Concert Series held at the Boys Ranch Park on May 4, May 11, May 18, and May 25, 2018 or rescheduled date if needed.
Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Reliable Paving, Inc., in the amount of $424,720, for the 2018 Concrete Sidewalk, Accessibility Ramps, Concrete Street Panels, Driveway, and Curb and Gutter Reconstruction at Various Locations project.
Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to expend funds for the rental of traffic control devices and electronic message boards with Buyers Barricades, in an amount not to exceed $49,000.
